At the time, I was working in the Maintenance section of the Toronto Transit Commission. I applied for a job to drive the public (bus, train, streetcar). But I was declined because I used too many sick days that year. I had to wait a year to reapply. I did get the job later on and I am greatful God allowed the “set back”. Today, I have a peace I’ve never known (27 yr Christian). My emotional baggage is lighter and my perspective is focused through the lens of God’s truth (ALL truth). My heart and mind is continually FILLED with worship/gratitude as I frequently think about God’s nature, attributes and my eternal hope – enjoying perfect fellowship with the One who is love!!!

Thank you for sharing that story. I feel my detour is in it’s 5th year. A family member was brought into our lives 5 years ago. They are very dependent on family, so I have spent up to 6 days a week trying to fill that need. I feel that I have put my life on hold. With the help of the Lord, I am trying to have the attitude of “count it all joy” in serving.
