Are you interrupting God?

Is God too busy to listen to you?

We call God our father.

So we think he’s like our natural father.

Who was probably busy and didn’t like to be interrupted.

Or maybe he was strict, distant or nasty.

So you keep your distance from God too.

You’re not alone, I had the same problem.

Click on the video and I’ll tell you what happened to me.

To live a transformed life, you need to get to know your father…God.

Now I want to hear from you

  1. Huhh !! I’ve never heard anyone else mention this, Grant, in a similar way as I experienced it. Nodding my head here while listening.

An absentee earthly father — doing “important” work as a career missionary — certainly helped contribute to the mistaken impression I had of Abba. Always had a running conversation with God, so knew He was THE Truth, real, able, and that there was a future for me in Heaven, BUT I was most apologetic and careful in how I approached Him, knowing He was ever so busy with much greater affairs, so I didn’t want to take His time. We MKs learn instinctively how to tiptoe around all this important stuff, because, after all, GOD is our folks’ Boss, and they’re doing SUCH important work that takes them out of the home to minister to all those needy people being eaten by cannibals or crocodiles, that you surely don’t want to be whiney, naughty, or get in the way, draw undue attention to yourself by being demanding and needy yourself, since God just might zap you for being unpleasant, out of order, and ungrateful around these important servants of His, your Godly parents. :o)

A few years back, late one night under a starry sky as I often finish off a day with The Lord, I started to laugh, finally fully realizing how I had approached HIm most of my life … “Sorry Lord… me again … forgive me for bothering …. know You’ve got a whack more important and pressing things to look after … but if You’ve a little time to sit with me …. ”

I finally GOT what this was about !

It’s been work and prayer and The Lord’s grace and compassion to bring me to the place where, now, I can believe every single day that I’m His Favorite (like everyone else is ! ) and He has all the time in the world for me. Amazing, amazing !

And He also brought great healing and understanding in relationship with my folks before they went Home to Him. What a good good God we have. There’s hope until the grave, as long as we still have breath in us, for His blessing and growth in us — that process of life-long transformation, sanctification…. Because of Him.

Keep up the great work, Grant and Kathy !

  2. DEAR GRANT,
I LIKED YOUR VIDEO ON SEEING FATHER GOD AS HE REALLY IS – OUR PERFECT FATHER WHO LOVES US GREATLY ! YOU SEE, I DIDN’T ALWAYS FEEL LIKE THAT BECAUSE I HONESTLY WAS AFRAID OF HIM .
I WAS TAUGHT THAT HE WAS AN OLD MAN WHO SAT ON HIS THRONE AND SEEMED TO ENJOY JUDGING PEOPLE AND PUTTING THEM IN HELL. ( CAME FROM A FRAGMENTED, OVERLY LEGALISTIC CHRISTIAN BACKGROUND)
WHEN I WAS BORN AGAIN AT THE AGE OF 22 , I FELL DEEPLY ‘IN LOVE’ WITH JESUS AND WAS EXTREMELY INTERESTED IN KNOWING THE HOLY SPIRIT. HOWEVER, IN THE BACK OF MY MIND THE IMPRINTING OF THE ROLE OF FATHER GOD WAS STILL THERE. I PRAYED LITERALLY FOR YEARS ASKING JESUS TO SHOW ME WHAT HIS FATHER WAS ‘REALLY LIKE’.
ONE MORNING AS I WAS DOING MY DEVOTIONS AND, WALKING TO WORK , I SAW A VISION OF THREE CROSSES – JESUS WAS ON THE CENTER CROSS BUT HE SPOKE TO ME AND SAID, “JUST AS I WAS ON THE CROSS AND DIED FOR ALL YOUR SINS, SO ALSO ON THE OTHER TWO CROSSES WERE THE HOLY SPIRIT AND GOD, MY FATHER ! ”
WOW! WHAT A REVELATION ! MY OPINION OF THE FATHER CHANGED THAT DAY ! I BEGAN PRAYING TO HIM AND ENTERED INTO HIS REST IN THE THRONE ROOM OF GOD THE FATHER. JESUS WAS AT HIS RIGHT HAND SIDE AND LOOKED AT ME SMILING. I KNEW I WAS NOW IN BOTH THEIR PRESENCE AND I ALSO KNEW , I HAD BEEN LED THEIR BY THE HOLY SPIRIT !
NOW, I ENTERED THAT SANCTIFIED CHAMBER OFTEN AND MANY TIMES I SIT ON THE FATHER’S LAP AND HE SPEAKS WORDS OF LOVE , WISDOM, MERCY AND DIRECTION TO ME !!!
THANKS BE TO OUR LOVING ABBA, FATHER !!!

  3. Thanks Grant,

Is God too busy to listen to you?

This describes my underling struggle. As you described, a father going off to work and leaving you instructions, but removed and uninterested in a moment by moment relationship.

This is the type of relationship I want with God.

    Thanks for sharing this.

  4. Im still learning what a father is all about, sometimes its really hard to accept because I never had a Dad that protect me or love me unless I performed or do, God doesnt ask me to do anything but to believe and receive him, He is teaching me that he is my resting place and nothing else matters because he loves me, thank you Grant for reminding me what my Father is telling me everyday. All my love everyone,.

    God is with you,

    Mari

  5. Thanks for your video. From what you said I can understand a bit why I have trouble accepting that God loves me or even having the ability to “love” God, because my earthly father was very distant, authoritarian, and did not show love-never to my recollection anyway was there any hugging, interest, or “love” type words. I remember being called ugly and stupid…I k now God is not like that, but now I understand better why I have this “block” …especially the part about loving and trusting God.

  6. My father was an alcoholic. At the age of 50 he stopped drinking and went to AA (I was 16). Although I was able to see a great transformation in his life and experiance love and support in a community that was life changing to me, I still struggle today at the age of 58 with understanding the love of our heavenly Father. It is helpful for me to continue to work out my salvation and strive for the understanding and wisdom that Jesus desires for us all. Thanks for the reminder.

  7. God shows me his love by providing me with everything that I need and the gift of health.

He blesses me so much. I love all your videos Grant. (:
