Do false alarms drive you nuts?

I hate false alarms.

They cause so much unnecessary worry, panic, fear and aggravation. Unfortunately they have become a common fact of modern high tech life.

In this video I’ll tell you about my recent experience with a false alarm that wouldn’t listen to reason. It wasn’t pretty.

  1. HI GRANT..LOVED THIS VIDEO ON FALSE ALARM..DIDN’T EVEN REALIZE THAT MY TRUST IN GOD HAD GONE SO LOW THAT IT COULD VERY WELL BE THE REASON IT SEEMED LIKE FEARS HAD MULTIPLIED IN MY LIFE.I’VE HAD SOME VERY REAL ALARMS THESE PAST FEW YEARS , STRUGGLING WITH A TROUBLED MARRIAGE, A DEPRESSED SON WHO IS DEVELOPMENTALLY DELAYED, MY MOM BATTLING CANCER FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS,,,AND I THINK I HAVE BEEN SO OVERWHELMED IT’S AFFECTED MY TRUST IN GOD. THIS VIDEO HELPED ME TO REALIZE THIS,,THANKS A MILLION..GLORY.

  2. You are so creative and funny. I love your sense of humour. Despite the frivolity, you send a clear message that we need to be reminded of-probably daily. You have a way of exposing issues that we experience, but don’t bring to a conscious level.
    Thanks for using your gifts.

  3. Hi Grant,

This is a great message for anyone who is threatened by others in the workplace who delight in creating panic and fear to support their own agendas. Wonderful to know that it is merely an internal false alarm! Thanks heaps!

  4. Hi Grant!
It is so refreshing to view your weekly video that are filled with excellent teachings that are done in a friendly and humorous manner. Thank you for using your gifts. I am looking forward in learning more from the wisdom that God has blessed you with. We are also viewing your videos and being blessed at our church small group. Thank you for all you do that is blessing so many people. Please be encouraged to continue this ministry.

  5. Hi Grant,

Really enjoyed the video on False Alarms – Satan tried to download one after our prayer meeting tonight. I tend to get depressed when these challenges hit, but to substitute trust is a great improvement.

    Thanks again,
    Linda

  6. Yes, I find myself thinking about something that hasn’t happened yet and I go through all the emotions as if it is actually happening. I get upset with myself sometimes about it. When I detect that I am living through something that has not happened yet, I shake my head and stop thinking about it. Knowing that God is in control helps, because you can then say “whatever happens, its ok”.

  7. You are brilliant and funny, Dr. Grant and your videos arrive exactly when I need them! When a “what if” comes to me I say “i = infinite, f = freedom in Christ”. Plus I tell God the emotion I am feeling like anxiety and I say, “I trust you God, I praise Jesus’ name, I welcome Holy Spirit with good angels”. Usually the bad feelings go away and I am able to proceed with reality. I thank you so very much! I thank GOD for you and Kathy and your family!

  8. I ask myself, “what is the reality of the situation without the emotion and what am I actually creating with my thoughts”. Then I remind myself that God has restored me this far and promises to never let go of me.

  9. Thanks Grant for this weeks timely message. I was with my doctor yesterday and we briefly talked about this. In the ‘tape recorder’ in my mind I am a specialist at asking myself, “What If?” Plus I was one of those who quickly turned to the speaker volume on the computer! Your false alarm beat me to it!
God richly bless you and continue to minister through you.

  10. Hey, I have a question for you.
I am terribly fearful of driving in the winter and I do whatever I have to too avoid this activity all winter. The fear is so bad that I totally freak out mentally and physically. One thing I do know is god does have his hand on my life and now that I am working I have to drive 30 minutes to and from work everyday and I am freaking out already. How can you help me to get through this.
    God bless you,
    Sue

  11. YOU DEFINITELY HAVE A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOUR.

  13. I have put the ‘what if’ acronym (i = infinite f = freedom in Christ) on my wall where I can see it. I think it will help me too. Thank you Patricia.
And thank you Dr Grant for helping us find healing.
    God is good.

  14. I just wanted to say how much this video meant to me.. I actually cried. Fear has taken over my life ..led by “what if”s. I cant even stay alone anymore because i get so scared or afraid of a panic attack. Its just a reminder that God is there for us..because sometimes we forget it.
