What an excellent word, Dr. Grant! That is power-packed: “Don’t deprive us of what YOU carry by pretending (desiring/coveting/striving) to be someone else!” That’s a super leadership word. That’s a super “all of us” word! Thank you for once again promoting His purposes through us………..!
I spent most of my life comparing myself to other people, believing that I was inferior and insignificant. I had low esteem and was always depressed. I had so many fears and insecurities that I was unable to use the wonderful gifts God has given me. Once I realized that God loved me despite my flaws and imperfections, I asked Him to enable me to use my gifts to help other people. He helped me overcome my fear and lifted my depression. He gave me the courage to help other people through coaching and leading a small group Bible study. I no longer compare myself to other people because I know I am beautiful in His eyes and that is all that matters.
True, true!
I’ve fallen to that deception at times of comparing myself to all of the wonderful believers that I know but have come to realize that I worship, talk, walk, pray, teach and do everything a little or sometimes a lot different than everyone else, yet I am amazed at how God shines his light through me in some very dark places.
p.s. I think you guys are great! Your fruit is very evident and I’m so glad to be a part of your family. The reason that you’re so great is that God is great and He lives in and through you.
“Thank-you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous–how well I know it” (Ps 139:14 NLT)
When I was younger I was continually comparing myself to others and wanting to be like them, act like them, etc. I didn’t know my own identity, until I started having a personal relationship with Jesus. He has shown me who I am in Him and yes, we are unique, praise the Lord! Thank you for these videos. God bless you and Kathy. Ps. 91
