Merry Christmas to you too!
Dr. Grant you made me chuckle with your video today. Did I also sense a bit of sarcasm in your voice? Well, that’s okay because I knew EXACTLY what you were trying to get across to us and I couldn’t agree more with you how I dread the same things particularly around this time of year.
I have to wonder why we all have this sense of urgency to getting to a mall when we know it’s just going be nuts in there and not to mention just trying to find a parking spot that stretches for miles and miles and you still couldn’t find a spot! I’d rather be taking that same distance of a walk on something more beautifully laid out than a bunch of parked cars!
So many of us lose the true meaning meaning of the “reason for the season” and with all this materiality which yes, I have been guilty of being that person myself, but have late, not so much recently and unfortunately for us this year it’s a very humbling Christmas for us here at home. With frailing health and little money we have to see what’s most important in our lives right now.
We need to know that material things just come and go but the true gift for me is the birth of Jesus Christ. That to me is one of the most precious gifts I’ve ever received.
There’s not much else to add here but to let you know that I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and the best of the New Year is yet to come!
Oh, and I must say you have been such a source and a light to me this past year! Thank you so much and God bless you. Hope you see more of you in the New Year!
Hi Dr Grant and family..may Christ fill your Christmas with His Presence and not just presents, as you mentioned in your video; it really is all about Him and giving to others and not just getting more material stuff for ourselves all the time.I have been avoiding the malls and large department stores this season for the same reasons you mentioned; it’s too much unnecessary stress.Looking forward to your blogs in 2012.I know they will continue to be a blessing to those who read them. Thanks for your encouragement and the hope you bring to those of us who have been emotionally bound and are being set free as we hear Truth from God’s Word through you..all God’s best for the New Year.
Thank you for your Christmas greetings. I hope all of you are able to stay away from Malls this week and avoid the trauma I faced.
It was so funny seeing you look for a parking spot..it’s like being in Sydney…can’t find a spot at this time of the year either ,,,thanks for the ride and Bless you both during this festive season. Thanks for all your newsletters and wonderful mesages on Jesus our Lord.
May 2012 be as fruitful.Denise
Thanks Denise. Glad you like the blogs. We may be back in Sydney next year!
Can’t stand Christmas shopping. No parking spaces, lack of clues about what to buy, etc. I always leave it until the very last day and then on the 24th there seems to be a bit quieter. I think we have twisted the meaning of Christmas a little bit. But I love the actual holiday and always look forward to it.
